Weeds!

Watch out for weeds around boat ramps and lake edges.

While the wind has made it hard to get out on the lake, the temperatures have also increased weed growth. Some weed masses are hard to spot, so be on the look out. If you do get stuck in a weed bed or suspect an overheat, follow these simple tips:

1. If you hear a temperature warning alarm, turn off the outboard/jetski and don’t restart until the issue is resolved.

2. Check for Weed Blockage:

- inspect the lower unit and propeller

- check the cooling water intake.

3. Clear the Propeller and Water Intake.

4. Check the Impeller.

If your engine still overheats after clearing the weeds, you may have a more serious issue (damaged impeller, clogged cooling passages, or thermostat failure) - give us a call.
